Network Leader/Manager

Overall Objectives

* Manage Japan data Network Services team of four.
* Ensure the stability and performance of internal and external connecting networks.
* Manage risk in audits, outages, and changes.
* Gather requirements from clients, and apply global solutions and standards that meet those requirements.

Core Responsibilities

* Ensure the team follows Key Operating Procedures and report on Key Performance Indicators
* Manage team projects.
* Prepare and execute according to financial and resourcing budget. Make adjustments as business requirements change.
* Represent Japan Network Services to Global.
* Ensure zero audit points. Provide responses to audit inquires.
* Develop staff soft and technical skills, and improve business awareness.
* Communicate/negotiate with network equipment vendors, carriers, financial network providers and stock exchanges for installation, troubleshooting, etc.
* Deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of production network consisting of Cisco routers and switches, Checkpoint firewalls, proxies, URL filters, and antivirus products.

Required Skills

* 5+ years managing network operations and deployment engineers in a multinational firm
* 5+ years managing large projects that affect multiple infrastructure silos across server farms and extranets
* 5+ years Cisco products hands-on experience (install, configure network equipment)
* 5+ years experience designing and troubleshooting routing protocol behavior
* Cisco Catalyst 6500 experience.
* Budgeting and executing to financial and resource budgets
* Behavioral and technical interviewing of sole performers and managers
* Develop Japan Network Services strategy and vision
* Strong multi-tasking skills
* Strong time management and delegation skills
* Strong appraisal and evaluation skills
* Understanding of routing protocols (RIP/OSPF/EIGRP/BGP)
* Understanding of TCP/IP data flow
* Strong problem solving skills
* Basic Unix skills
* Strong English language ability (reading, writing and verbal)
* Negotiate with vendors in Japanese, read e-mails
* Bachelors degree

DESIRED SKILLS

* IT certifications in CCNA, CCNP, CCIE
* CheckPoint Firewall management experience
* Experience with network security protocols (IPSec VPN, IDS)
