Account Manager

We are currently looking for two (2) Account Managers / Business Development Managers in Japan for our client’s Life Sciences (LS) practice. One requirement is for the person to be based in Tokyo and the other one in Osaka.

The role of LS Account Manager requires good industry experience and combines the skills of business development, business technology consulting and complex program management, blending onsite expertise with offshore delivery. The key measures of the Account Manager role include revenue, delivered margin and customer satisfaction. Targets are set to ensure that our client is winning an increasing level of existing client’s budgets.

The key attributes of the role include:

- Account management for existing clients, ensuring that our client is well placed to extend their existing level of business. Increasing the depth and breadth of relationships in their existing accounts. Ensuring that customer survey results in existing accounts exceed the company’s average results across all accounts. Ensure reference ability of work done in existing customers.
- Working with offshore team
- Consultative selling to build relationships at senior levels in new accounts. In cooperation with other team members, including regional LS practice members, participate in campaigns and events targeted to win new clients.
- Organizational initiatives. Participates as a key member of both the Japan business and the regional LS industry practice.
- Operational excellence. Ensures key operational metrics are met, including pipeline management, forecast accuracy, accounts receivable, resource management efficiency

Job Scope/Responsibilities:

- Plan and execute strategy to achieve revenue targets among identified accounts
- Lead business development activities and develop new opportunities in existing clients
- Engage and manage clients at appropriate levels, including senior technology and business executives in the target clients
- Strongly involvement in program management to a level necessary to participate in project meetings with client and contribute
- Work with the delivery team and third-party vendors to ensure that project risks are minimized and project goals are met

Requirements:

- Experience: 6-8 years
- Substantial IT services business development, business technology consulting and program management experience with a minimum of 4 years in Life Sciences industry
- Proven track record in delivery of substantial outsourced/managed services in Japan
- Able to communicate at the ‘C’ level with respect to the formulation of a specific value proposition for outsourced services
- Excellent verbal & written Japanese communication, and inter-relationship skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Self-motivated and result-oriented
- Good knowledge of outsourcing/managed services and, IT infrastructure and enterprise
